Dear friends! We continue to tell you about Vedic culture. The previous publication about mantras was devoted to their role in Vedic tradition. This time we would like to consider more detailed the most important mantra in Hinduism – Om, as well as its sacred significance.
Om – is the initial mantra, the entire Universe has arisen from its vibration. It was the first sound in the world. That is why the repetition of this mantra brings harmony, peace and spiritual purification. The mantra “Om” clarifies mind, opens the energy channels and enhances life energy, expands and purifies aura. It gives strength to all it is aimed at.
This mantra helps consciousness to rise to a higher level. It reflects our attention from all the rational, emotional and physical, from everything that can distract the mind from the level of supersensitive perception.
“Om” – is not just a syllable, it consists of several levels. You should pronounce mantra as it is – ‘Om’, but it actually consists of 3 “sounds”: A-U-M. Each of these sounds characterizes a condition of a man and world. “A” – is the active phase (waking), which signifies the mind and Universe. With the sound of “U” man plunges into a state of dormancy, the intermediate state between waking and sleeping. At this point turns on his subconscious. In turn, the “m” sound – the state of deep sleep, unconscious. If you repeat mantra many times, you will hear pauses between mantras. This “silence” is called Turya or pure consciousness, a state of bliss.
Repeating mantra many times, we strengthen its positive effect, purify our mind and direct energy in the right direction. “Om” strengthens all other mantras, so it is recommended to combine it with other Bija Mantras.
We wish you harmony and peace!
